Therapy for Self-Destructive Behaviors

I love working through self-destructive behaviors. Whether you know the cause or triggers for your self-destructive behaviors or you’re just beginning your journey- I would love to help you find new ways to cope. Self-destructive behaviors are often our attempt to cope with something before we have healthy coping skills in place. I will utilize skills from Dialectical Behavior Therapy to help you gather tangible coping skills. A common self-destructive behavior is self-harm, but can also be risky sexual behaviors, compulsive shopping, substance use, etc. If you’re in a current crisis and need resources, call 988 to talk to the suicide helpline.

If any of the following sound like you, I would love to work with you to help you build a relationship that is worth having-

  • you keep doing things your friends and family tell you not you

  • you feel overwhelmed by emotions

  • you act impulsively

  • you keep make decisions that are not in your best interest

  • you want to understand “why you are the way you are”

  • you feel shame about your behaviors and cannot stop

If you relate to any of these-schedule a no commitment 15 minute phone call to inquire about therapy services.
